LIFE STORY: SAMUEL LINCOLN was born Mar. 16, 1658, in Taunton, Bristol, MA. He was the son of Thomas Lincoln of Taunton. This is proved in that Thomas left a bequest for his grand daughter, Lydia Lincoln, Samuel's first child by his first wife, Sarah Royce, in Thomas's last will and testament. Lydia was also named in Samuel's will and also a deed of land of her uncle, Jonah Lincoln.[4]

Samuel Lincoln on June 2, 1692 married his second wife Elizabeth Jacobs, (Windham Vital Records, A-24). He was the son of Thomas Lincoln and Mary Austin. He was born 1658 and died 1738. "The first Lincoln to appear in Windham county, Conn., was Samuel Lincoln, about 1692, claimed to have come from Taunton, Mass. via Norwich, Conn.

Elizabeth (Jacobs) died around 1727 (Samuel married in 1729 Experience (-----) Lanphere).

On May 9, 1732, SAMUEL made his will which was probated at Windham on Mar. 3, 1737/38. His son THOMAS was named as executor. SAMUEL acknowledges in the will, a previous gift of three parcels of land to his sons. The children named here who survived to adulthood, Lydia, Samuel, Jacob, Mercy, Thomas,, Jonah, and Elizabeth, are all named in Samuel's Last Will and Testament.[5]
