  2. A comprehensive study of this family has not been found. An article in TAG, "Abigail Webster's Husband Identified" by Marya C. Myers, Vol. 77, p. 227, suggests the Mary Henshaw who m. Newport RI 1772 John Westgate might be a daughter of Samuel Henshaw. Of course she would not be the Mary b. 1735 as she had a son Samuel Henshaw Westgate bp. 1784, but it might be the daughter Mercy. The author notes that Arnold's Vital Record of Rhode Island (vol. 8, p. 406, 409, 420, 425) lists the baptism of John Henshaw in 1756, son of Samuel Henshaw "late of Boston" [presumably the one b. 1754 died and another was born?] and his daughter Elizabeth marries John Seabury there [a widow Elizabeth Seabury, later Elizabeth Demming, figures in some deeds listed on her uncle William's page]. Other children of Samuel's appear to show up in New York City marriages (a Mehitable Henshaw married Samuel Nesbitt, rector of St. Ann's Church in Brooklyn, and a Zaccheus Henshaw m. 1790 Elizabeth Eckart in New York City.)
