    Joshua Henshaw, the second son of Joshua and Mary(Webster) Henshaw was born at his father's house in Boston, August 2, 1703. On the 27th day of December, 1733, he was married to Elizabeth daughter of the Hon. Richard and Sarah (Davis) Bill. At a town meeting held March 2, 1764, Joshua Henshaw was chosen first on the list of Selectman and from this time forward for several years he was frequently chosen to this office. Force to flee Boston in consequence of the enforcement of the "Boston Port Bill" he removed in 1774 with his wife to Leicester where his brother and son-in-law lived, soon after to Dedham, where he died Tuesday 5 Aug 1777. Children: Sarah, Richard, Joshua and Andrew.

    Vol. 76, p. 395 Will of "Joshua Henshaw of Boston Esq'r", dated 22 May 1773, proved 26 Sep 1777, names wife Elisabeth; three Children, Viz. Joshua Henshaw, Andrew Henshaw & Sarah Henshaw. Sons Joshua Henshaw & Andrew Henshaw with my Son in Law Joseph Henshaw to be executors.
    Vol. 83, p. 1 30 Dec 1783: Appraisal and partition of real estate of Joshua Henshaw late of Boston which the said Deceaseds widow improved during her life among his children: Mansion house will support one heir, wooden tenement will support one heir, but no further division possible. 1 Jan 1784: Judge's decree that Joshua Henshaw eldest son will receive mansion house he paying Sarah Henshaw Wife of Joseph Henshaw Esq'r and heirs of Andrew Henshaw deceased. Wooden tenement still undivided. A notation says this settlement was set aside with the heirs making their own settlement.
