"Galpin, Samuel, s. of Philip. Born at New Haven, 17 July 1650. Inv. 22 Mar. 1697/8; widow Elizabeth made oath. Five children: Elizabeth 13, Samuel 9, Caleb 6, Abigail 2, Mary ½. Adm'n granted 26 Apr. 1698 to widow and Mr. John Hawley. On 7 Mar. 1710/1, Caleb son of Samuel chose Francis Griffin for guardian; Abigail and Mary chose their mother Elizabeth Galpin. Elnathan Peat and wife Mary conveyed 1716 to brother Caleb Galpin."
