Married Mary Ives. Samuel was in Capt. Robert Durkees Co. and attached to Conn. Regt. commanded by Col. John Durkee. He was engaged in the "affairs of Millstone River and Bound Brook, N.J." and also the battle of Brandywine. He was in Capt. Spaulding's Co., Germantown, Pa., 23 June 1778; ordered to Wyoming, 3 July 1778; was on the roll, 15 Mar 1779. He moved to Ohio about 1806.
