John Eby, the eldest son of David Davis Eby, settled near Canton, Ohio, in 1807, several years ahead of his father. He was one of the pioneer school masaters of that section. He was married a second time and had a family of seventeen children, whose names were as follows: Samuel, Michael, Daniel, David, Gabriel, Peter, Mary, Susan, Salome, Joseph, Jacob, John, Catharine, Elizabeth, Adam, Thomas, and Simon. Of the descendants of some of these nothing is known and but little has been ascertained for others.
