  1. Ruth was one of B'ham's Civic Leaders - very involved in Women Organizations. She was also an accomplished poet, writing many poems that were published in the Birmingham News. Writing flourished in her family as her Father, Grandfather, and several sisters also were writers / journalists. Her son, my Father - Richard - also had a penchant for writing poetry.
