Ruth (Mrs. Ruth Bruning) is mentioned as a surviving sister in the obituary of Benjamin Jackson exerpted below: "He is survived by five sons, Glenn Jackson, Mason City; Merlyn Jackson, Forest City; Benjamin and Jesse Jackson, both of Bath; and Robert Jackson of Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Louisa Palmer, Manito; and Mrs. Prudence Folkman, Canton; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Bruning, Havana; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren." Bruning Dies This A.M. at Age 88 HAVANA - Mrs. Ruth Bruning, 88, a resident of the Havana Nursing Home for several years, died there at 5 a.m. today. Funeral services, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hurley Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Wiedrich, pastor of the First Methodist church at Havana, officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born Oct. 3, 1876, at Forest City, she was the daughter of Josiah and Ann Beard Jackson. She married John Herman Bruning Sept. 16, 1903, at Easton. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1955. Surviving is one son, John, of Cincinnati, O. Mrs. Bruning was a member of the First Methodist church, the Pipe Organ Society, and the WSCS.
