"LIGHTNING'S PRANKS: MRS. WILL ETCHINSON WAS STRANGELY AFFECTED. Mrs. W.B. Etchinson, living south of the city, who was so strangely affected by lightning one evening last week, is stilll in critical condition and fears are certain that she will not recover, or if she does, that she will be a helpless cripple for life. She lies paralyzed from her shoulders to her feet. When stricken the lightning did not strike the house or any point near and what brought about her condition cannot be determined. Mr. Etchison and their two children were at home at the time and were not affected."

"WELL KNOWN YOUNG COUNTRY LADY AT THE POINT OF DEATH: Mrs. William Etchison, one of the best known young women of the north part of the county, is lying at the point of death at her home near Frankton. Mrs. Etchison was struck by lightning two years ago and for a long time it was thought she would die. She finally rallied and was apparently as well as ever until since Tuesday last, when her husband died. From that time Mrs. Etchison has been suffering from nervous prostration much as she did after the lightning stroke and her friends now have little hope for her recovery."

"STILL CRITICAL: Mrs. William Etchison, who was stricken with paralysis immediately after the news of her husband's death three weeks ago, was communicated to her, is still very sick. For a time she seemed to be improving, but the past few days her condition has been such as to cause her friends much concern."

"MRS. ETCHISON SUCCUMBS THURSDAY- Mrs. Rosa Etchison, 91, died at 11:50 o'clock Thursday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dale Flora, route 2 Elwood. She had been ill only a few days. Born Oct. 9, 1865, near Aroma, she was the daughter of Jesse and Rachel Smith; married William B. Etchison on Mar. 24, 1888. He died in 1903. She was a member of the Aroma Methodist church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Flora at whose home she died and Mrs. Elay (Eloy) Foust of route 5 Anderson, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The body is at the Copher and Fesler funeral home where friends may call. Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning at the Aroma Methodist church. Rev. John D. Adkins, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Aroma cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour preceding the service.
