Edward was the son of Francis Lemuel and Ellen Caroline (Shirey) Ritchey. His father came to Ohio from Venenago Co., Pa., to work in the oil fields. When oil was discovered in Southern California in 1923, Edward and Rosetta went to California with his father and two brothers and their families to work in the oil fields. Edward died 1 Dec 1949 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., Ca, and was buried 3 Dec 1949 in Sunnyside Mem., Long Beach, Ca. Rosetta died 14 Oc t 1954 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., Ca, and was buried 16 Oct 1954 in Sunnyside Mem., Lon g Beach, Ca. [Bigham/Berens]
