Roger Waddington of Southowram, nr Halifax. Son of Edward Waddington 1516 of Grindleton nr Clitheroe and of Hipperholme, Halifax. Mentioned as witness 8th February, 1545, with his brother Edward Waddington. Also a witness in connection with the sale of land by Edward Oldfelde of Sowerby, purchased from Robert and John Hemingway of Southowram, and again 16th October, 1566, in connection with a Bond by James Oldfelde of Shipden within the township of Southowram, sealed and delivered in the presence of Roger Waddington. Descended from Richard de Wadyngton 1388 of Coley, Halifax.
