He traveled with the William Willes company from Wyoming, Nebraska, arriving in Salt Lake City on November 29, 1865.

Robert Henry Swain had never worked with stone in England, but when he came to Utah he obtained employment as a stone mason on the Salt Lake Temple, where he worked for ten years. He became the chief stone mason. It is said his death was due to silicosis caused by working so long with the granite. Eva Beatrice Squires Poelman

Buysville is now Daniels.

Roberts head stone says that he was born in 1837 but in the IGI his LDS Church membership record of a deceased persons says his birth date was the 19th of March 1832 in Alkham, Kent, England. The Ancestral File has his birth date as 1835. The Heber Newspaper has his birth date as the 19 of March 1837 at the time of his death. The 1880 Census says that he was 40 years old in 1880.
