Robert Homer Knotts, 72, of Mulberry, FL, formerly of West Mayfield, PA and Salisbury, NC, died Friday morning, June 6, 2003, at an Orlando, FL hospital, after a period of declining health.

Born May 15, 1931 in Beaver Falls, PA, Mr. Knotts was the son of the late William Bryan Knotts and Eda Stump Knotts. He was a member of the Woodleaf Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He retired after 20 years with Fiber Industries, now Kosa.

He was an active geneologist having researched many families. He donated all his work and papers to the Calhoun County Library in Grantsville, WV, where a geneology room was named in his honor.

He was a 1949 graduate of Beaver Falls High School.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Bryan Knotts, and two brothers, William Bryan Knotts Jr. and Andrew Dean Knotts.

Surviving are three sons, Edwin G. Knotts of Darlington, PA; Robert William Knotts of Seven Springs, NC; and Robert Homer Knotts, Jr. of Cleveland, NC; a daughter, Kristina Renee Adkins of Salisbury, NC; 12 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren; a brother, Richard E. Knotts of Chippewa Township, PA; a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Knotts Rhodes of Darlington, PA, and many nieces and nephews.

The body was cremated and the ashes interred in the Salisbury, NC Military Cemetery.
