Census 1930, Utica, Oneida County, NY: Fenton, Eva M. - Head - " Almeda - Daughter - " Robert D. - Grandson - Male - White - Age 5 - Born New York [edit] ================================Rome Daily Sentinel, 11 Dec 1931: BOY, 7, KILLED IN MOTOR ACCIDENT ... Returning home on an errand for his mother at 6 o'clock last night Robert Donald Fenton, 7, son of Mrs. Almeda Fenton of 309 W. Willett street, was fatally injured when struck by an automobile driven by William "Benny" Lado of the River Road. The accident occurred in the 300 block of W. Dominick street near Douglas avenue. The victim was unidentified for over an hour. The boy was placed in Mr. Lado's automobile immediately after the accident and rushed to tbe Rome Hospital where he died a sbort time afterward. Returning from the hospital, Mr. Lado reported to the police and then took officers to the scene. He said the boy darted from behind another car and ran into his left front wheel while he was proceeding west on Dominick ST. Mr. Lado was not held by police. The Fenton child died of a broken neck. Dr. H. F. Hubbard was called and gave the body In charge of the undertaking firm of Wunsch and Campbell. Surviving besides the mother is a step-brother, John A. Webb. The boy was a pupil in the first grade of Barringer School. He was born in Rome. .. Rome Daily Sentinel, 14 Dec 1931: ACCIDENT VICTIM BURIED IN CEMETERY AT CAMDEN Funeral services for Robert Donald Fenton, 7, fatally Injured when struck by an automobile here Thursday evening, were held from the home of his mother, Mrs. Almeda Fenton of 809 W. Willett street, at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The servlces, conducted by the Rev. Dr. O'Dale King of the First M. E. Church, were largely attended. Robert W. Mldlam sang "When He Comes" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." Playmates of the lad, who was a pupil In the first grade at Barringer School, served as bearers. They were Emery Marsh, ... Schoolmates visited the home in a body Friday. Flowers were sent by pupils of District 12 School at Camden and the boy's class of Barringer School. Burial was made in Forest Park Cemetery at Camden.
