On 14 Feb 1876 (Deed Book 4, pp99-101) Robert P. Eckford signs 2 contracts with C. B. Ames. 1) Robert sells three tracts of land for $500. 2) Robert agrees to pay $150 in rent to farm that same land with an option to repurchase the land by 14 Feb 1877 for $650 (Rent + sale price). Thereafter, Robert apparently never returns to Noxubee County.
