Milwaukee war scharf in Für- und Antikriegsgruppen geteilt und Tausende Deutscher fühlten Sympathie für ihr Vaterland.

Mr. Buech war Ehrenmitglied der "National lodge of the Knights of Pythias".

Es leben drei Kinder, Frau Ella Bennewitz, bei der er die letzten 15 Jahre lebte und zwei Söhne William F. und Arthur. Eine Schwester, Frau Amanda Petrau und ein Bruder Albert leben noch in Deutschland. Die Beerdigungsfeier wird im Borgwardt Beerdigungsheim stattfinden. 1817 W. national av. Am Freitag um 2 Uhr.
