Brothers Robert and William are memorialized on a stained glass window in the Aroma Methodist (Methodist Episcopal) church per Carolyn Johnson's interview with Wilbert Cox. "The one (window) on the south by the organ and piano, was given by Brothers Robert and William Allen. They were sons of William Harvey's sister Sarah, who married Josiah Allen. She was written out of the Quaker church for (marrying out of the faith). Their sons, Robert and William, came to this community and lived many years with Cyrus Harvey, who lived in the big house just north of the church. Robert Allen was Captain of the 37th Indiana Volunteers, and lost an arm in one of the Civil war battles. He was in love with a young lady back in Wayne County, Indiana. They were to be married soon, when he met with an accident that disfigured his face. The engagement was broken and he and his brother came to Hamilton County. His disfigurement had healed, but by then she had married someone else. He never went back to Wayne County and never married. Both brothers are buried in Aroma cemetery. Sad isn't it?"
