Dolly Garretson, Rebecca's gr-granddaughter: "Rebecca was of German descent and still spoke German a lot around the house. She and Richard lived in a log house by a cold spring just above the Rufus and Becca Wilson farm. They raised 10 children and then separated but never divorced. After the separation, Rebecca lived with her youngest girl, Mary, and I think she lived to be 98 years old and was buried at Nobe Cemetery." The Preston Co., WV 1850 and 1880 Census say she was born in Maryland. Various dates have been noted for her birth. Her headstone says 1823.
