    Raymond Hickman Drowns in Pawnee
Raymond Edgar Hickman, son of Rev. M.E. Hickman was drowned Sunday afternoon in the Pawnee near the dam there on the Pawnee Valley Byler ranch. He had gone with his parents to Kalvesta Sunday morning, and on over to the ranch where had been employed about noon. About 3:00 he told the folks at the ranch that he believed he would go down to the creek for a while. When he did not return at 9:00 they became alramed and started looking for him. About 11 that night his father was notified and a searching part from Cimarron was organized. His body was found in about 10 feet of water at 3:30 Monday morning. He had evidently made a desperate attempt to get out of the water, as one boot was off and his heavy coat partly taken off. The boat in which he probably had been riding wa against the bank near where the body was found. His family has the deep felt sympathy of their many friends at their sudden bereavement.

In reference to the pepole listed in the pictures: This is from John W Hickman 7 Mar 2006:
"I cant tell you whether any of those listed were Raymond's classmates. I would make a guess that Arthur McKinney may have been, since I think he was the oldest McKinney. These are all names of High School age kids. I think Frank Creamer Sr. was the school bus driver, so Frank Jr. would be his son Charles Cross is probably be Charles Cross, but I don't remember any Cross kids, so he may have been an adult.

Dug the grave: I think worked Jimmy Hoar worked for Bill Cross. Jimmy Hoar married Lucile Hiller. Elzie McKinney I am not sure of, but John McKinney would be I think the same John McKinney who referred to in the pall bearers paragraph. Calomel Clayton should be Colonel Clayton and I think he was related some way to Lucille Hiller. Dad worked one summer in the wheat harvest I remember for Colonel Clayton, which leads me to believe he had land on his own and may have worked for Bill Cross as well."
