'In summary, the oft-repeated assertions that Jonathan2 Bliss's wife was Miriam Harmon are not supported by the available evidence, which points instead to a daughter (Rachel?) of George1 Puffer of Braintree.'

Note that there is no documentary evidence to support the first name of Jonathan's wife being Rachel. Only an examination of first names given to girls in subsequent generations suggests that it might have been Rachel. On the other hand, there is a document supporting the possibility that she was the daughter of George Puffer of Braintree, but this is still speculation. See the article for the full arguments on her identity as a daughter of George Puffer and her possible first name.
