Pierre LANOUE was born around 1648 [no place listed], a cooper. He married around 1682 to Jeanne GAUTROT, daughter of Francois & Edmée LEJEUNE; one son born around 1683. He was on the Port Royal censuses of 1693, 1698, 1700, 1701. [The 1671, 1703, 1707 are listed in "Official Documents."]

    A "Secondary Source" note states that P. GAUDET confused this Pierre with another one who was native of Dol in Bretagne, living at Isle Royale. (Reference: SGCF; fol.XXXIV (1983); pp. 25-26).

    Ancestry of Pierre Joseph given back seven generations to William de LA NOUE, one of the nobles of the Barony of Retz who paid homage to the Duke of Brittany in 1383, and received the estate of Guihredeau and its title of nobility in 1402. [Stephen A. White does not list this in his DGFA.]
    Listed as born in Bogard in 1647, son of Henry LANOUE, Councelor [sic] of the Parliament of Brittany who married in 1632 to Anne LE MATAYER, eldest daughter of Mathurin, Lord of Bogard, & Dame Anne du GROSQUER. There were three brothers: William, who succeeded; Charles Francois, & Claud Rene.
