    Whereas it is appoynted for all men once to dye and the day of death is uncertain I Philipp Marshall of Thrales End in the parish of Luton in the County of Bedford Yoman being willing to prepare for that day doe in order thereunto make and ordeyne this my last will and testament in manner and forme following And first I give and devise unto my dear wife Mary All that Messuage Tenem[en]t or farme with thappurten[an]ces Situate lying and being in Thrales End aforesaid now in my occupat[i]on and all those four Closes lying together neer the Messuage aforesaid conteyning together twenty six acres more or lesse and all those Closes called Reddings and parcells of arable land and wood thereunto belonging conteyning by estimac[i]on Twelve acres more or lesse One Close of arable land called Crossing croft conteyning by estimac[i]on four acres more or lesse one close of arable land called Grave croft conteyning by estimac[i]on one acre and three roods more or lesse one Close called Bleckmere conteyning by estimac[i]on seaven acres more or lesse Two Closes called Newcloses conteyning by estimac[i]on twelve acres more or lesse one close called Brodmere conteyning Seaven roods more or lesse one Close called Naldwick conteyning eight acres more or lesse and one Close called Chaddock hill close conteyning by estimac[i]on three acres more or lesse And also all those my arable lands lying in the Comon feilds of Luton aforesaid called Great Hydefeild and Little Hydefeild the Hawkefeild and Liddow conteyning Twenty eight acres more or lesse all which said p[re]misses are Situate lying and being in Thrales End and Luton aforesaid and now are or late were in my occupac[i]on and also all those my Two Closes of arable land with thappurten[a]ncs called Ashfordbridge closes and a medow conteyning Ten acres more or lesse lying in Harpenden & Whethamsted in the County of Hertford and all that piece of ground conteyning by estimac[i]on half an acre more or lesse lying in Newmill Comon feild in the p[ar]ish of Luton aforesaid And all that Cottage Situate and being in the parish of Luton aforesaid in the tenure & possession of William Crawley together with all houses edifices buildings barnes Stables yards orchards gardens com[m]ons p[ro]ffitts com[m]odityes and appurten[a]ncs whatsoever to the said Messuage farmlands and p[re]misses belonging or in any wise apperteyning And also all other my Lands Tenem[en]ts and hereditam[en]ts whatsoever To Hold to my said wife Mary her Heires and Ass[ign]s for ever Upon this Speciall trust and confidence nevertheless in her reposes that Shee the said Mary shall and will give and dispose of the same Lands and Tenem[en]ts to and amongst my Children as Shee shall think fitt Also I give and bequeath unto my said wife Mary all and Singular my goods and chattels and p[er]sonall estate whatsoever And I doe hereby make and constitute her the said Mary full and Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament Revoking all other wills by mee formerly made In witnesses whereof I have to this my last Will & Testam[en]t Sett my hand and Seale and published the same the Ninth day of March in the Three and thirtieth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God King of England Scotland France & Ireland Defender of the Faith &c Annoq Dni 1680
