Stone Creek is the only village in the township of Jefferson, one of 22 townships in Tuscarawas County. Like the surrounding townships, Jefferson is sparsely populated. In the 2000 Federal Census, there were only 976 people enumerated.

Philipp's father-in-law and mother-in-law, are buried in the URBANA, Indiana Cemetery.
