The ancestry of Peter Philipp Hoffmann is not known, but he might have been a Palatine, since his son was born in the Pfalz. Dorothy Steiner lists his name as: Philip Peter Hoffman. She writes that he migrated to the USA in the 1840s.

Below in the Image Gallery is a 1975 picture of the Stone Ceek Cemetery. The bare area in the center was probably where the original Zion's Congregation Church was originally built, in circa 1840. The www.findagrave.com image of Peter Philipp's tombstone was approved for use on this site by the photographer Pamela Myers-Grewell.

There is a DISCREPANCY in the data, as Tuscarawas County, Ohio Cemeteries , Volume III says his death was in 1888. However, the book gives his age as 82, so perhaps a typo?

To the left of the cemetery image, some 50 or so yards, was the Lot 33 of Daniel Lower, until he sold it to Peter Becker in 1848, and migrated to Indiana.
