Caroline's maiden name given was: CONROD

  2. "Zion's Kirchenbuch" translated by Maxine Renner Eberle of Sugar Creek, Ohio (1983).

This marriage was the first listed in Maxine's book - therefore, probably the first listed in the church's records.

Zion's Congregation was a joint Lutheran and German Reformed church. They worshipped on alternate Sundays. The Lutheran records started earlier (1841) but there were almost no marriages between the two groups. They kept to themselves. The German Reformed were mostly recent immigrants from the Palatinate, and the Lutherans were mostly American residents for generations, who migrated from Pennsylvania.
