Person:Philip Barron (2)

Obituary : There is no documented record of Philip's death. It is told that

he died 1) as the result of an accident where he worked at a stable in New York City; 2) that he died in Ireland before the family sailed 3) that he died in Canada 4) and that he died after his arrival in Iowa. Therefore there has been no luck in finding any kind of obit, probate, census records or will.

We know that he is the husband of Bridget Murphy Barron and father to her

children based on records from Monroe Co Iowa. Photocopies of census records and a color photos of the headstones of: wife, Bridget; son, James; daughter, Hannah; and son, Sylvester in the possession of Sharon Pohlman

According to family records Philip's father was "Sir Francis Baron (the name

was apparently changed to Barron when the family fled France for Ireland); While the records in France seem complete based on the records in the LDS library IGI files, the records for Ireland seem harder to find. They are supposed to be very complete on actual location in the Catholic Churches in Ireland, but so far a lot of that information doesn't seem available through the IGI. With the different ages in Philip and Francis maybe there is one more generation possibly another Philip..... time and research will tell.
