In Hutchinson, Minn., at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Millard Tucker, Phebe A. Crandall Coon, aged 53 years. Sister Coon was born in Rhode Island. At the age of thirteen she experienced a change of heart, and united with the First Hopkinton Church; in 1849 was married to Archibald G. Coon, and subsequently moved to Independence, N. Y. Brother and Sister Coon transferred their membership to the Seventh-day Baptist Church of that place. Moving to Minnesota, they united with the Transit Seventh-day Baptist Church (now known as the New Auburn Church) of which Sister Coon was a worthy member at her death.
She was respected by all who knew her, as a consistent Christian. She bore her sufferings with Christian resignation. When near her departure she said, 'For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building in God, a house not made with hands eternal in the heavens.' 2 Cor. 5: 1. Her remains were brought to New Auburn for interment. Funeral services were held in the Seventh-day Baptist church, which was filled with a sympathizing congregation. Funeral services were conducted by Eld. Z. Campbell. Text 2 Tim. 1: 10. Z. C.
