Peter was taken ill on August 5, 1893 and died August 17, 1893. He was 21 years of age. The Waterloo Courier said he left none but friends behind him and his life was pure. He had a large funeral and was buried from St. Joseph's Catholic church and was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
