An email from Rick Sterling, "Peter Hoff Jacksons' ancestry was found in some notes in a Susquehanna County library but with no sources. In my private notes I do have an unsourced entry that says Peter's middle name was Hoff. It list the line of ancestry as Peter-David-James-John and Sarah Doty Jackson-James and Rebecca Hallet Jackson-John and Elizabeth Seaman Jackson."

Mrs. Sylvia Conway Maynard has donated a Bible Record of Peter Jackson to the Orange County Genealogy Association and Ann Shelton has mailed me a copy. The page has a listing of many Jackson descendants in beautiful handwriting indicating that Peter was certainly literate and well educated.

There were four Peter Jacksons in Orange County census for 1840; only Peter in Mount Hope, Orange County had the necessary number of children.
