Peter Albert Allen was born on 20th February 1880 at 15 Campbell Street in Paddington, Middlesex, son of a district nurse named Sarah Jane Allen, formerly Lewis, and her husband Peter Allen, a horse dealer. He appears in both the 1881 and 1891 censuses living with his parents in Paddington.
On 6th August 1899, aged 19, Peter married Ellen Eliza Penney at St Mary's in Paddington. The 1901 census finds Peter and Ellen living with her adoptive father, Arthur Penney, and two small children. They were living in the St Pancras area of London. By 1911 they were living at 30 North Street in the Edgware Road area. Ellen reported that she had had four children, but one had died.
It has yet to be established what happened to Ellen after 1911. Peter died in 1917, aged just 37.
