Facts and Events
Name Patrick Sweeney
Gender Male
Christening[1] 1 Apr 1845 Castleconor, County Sligo, Ireland
Census[2] 7 Apr 1861 Sorbie, Wigtownshire, Scotland

Patrick Sweeney was baptised at Castleconor in County Sligo in 1845, the eldest child of Mary Sweeney formerly Kilcawley and her husband Michael Sweeney, an agricultural labourer, who had married the previous year. The family lived at Muingwore, a townland in the south of the parish close to the border with County Mayo. A further two sons were baptised at Castleconor in 1846 and 1849. Some time between 1849 and 1851 Patrick's parents and his brother Michael left Ireland, moving to Scotland. Patrick does not appear with his parents in the 1851 census in Scotland, but had joined them by 1861, when they were living at Sorbie in Wigtownshire.

Patrick has yet to be traced after 1861.
