Patrick Gene Flanagan (March 31, 1945 - November 20, 2012)

Patrick Gene Flanagan, 67, of Canton, Missouri died at 8:42 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Keokuk Area Hospital.

He was born March 31, 1945 to Dana Flanagan, Jr. and Dorothy Hansbrough Flanagan in Independence, Missouri. He was married to Charlotte Lovell Flanagan on April 5, 1991.

Pat was a 1963 graduate of LEMO schools in Lewistown, Missouri. He was a long-distance truck driver, an owner/operator, and a dispatcher for Leeser and for Sharkey. Pat was a member of the Eagles Aerie #1800 in Canton. He became disabled in an automobile accident in 1988. His family has always marveled at the good humor and determination he showed in the face of his disability.

Pat is survived by his loving wife Charlotte of Canton, his two sons; Chris (Julie) Flanagan of Canton, Missouri, and Sean Flanagan of Imperial, Missouri; his daughter Kelly Flanagan of Dania Beach, Florida; his step-son Jeff (Karena) DeLozier and his step-daughter LeAwana Covington.Five grand-children, Dana Marie Flanagan, Kennedy Lane Flanagan and Abigail Christy Flanagan of Canton, Missouri and Ian Christopher Flanagan of Barnhardt, Missouri and step granddaughter Emily French of Barnhardt, MO; his brother, Mike (Leann) Flanagan of Quincy, Illinois; his niece Laura Elizabeth Flanagan of New York, New York; and numerous cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his aunts and uncles.

Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton, MO. Following the service there will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Pat at the Comfort Inn in Canton.
