    Orville S. Reed, 100, of 48 Goodrich, Hillsdale, died Saturday (Oct. 25, 1997) in the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.
    Mr. Reed was born Jan. 25, 1897, in Fennville, to Percy and Mary (Beam) Reed. He graduated from Beulah High School and attended Ypsilanti Normal College, retired from Hillsdale Tool, was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War I. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church.
    He married Elithe Shiffler, and she preceded him in death in 1962. He married Isabelle Myers, Sept. 5, 1964, and she survives.
    Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Arling Lane, Reading; one stepson and wife, Doyle and Shirley Myers, Hillsdale; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
    The funeral is 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home, Hillsdale, with the Rev. Robert Prince and Captain Linda Jones officiating.
    Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Reading.
    Memorials are suggested to the Nazarene Missions.
