- from the notes of Mary Gertrude Wolfe Brock, written in 1979: In 1916 Grandpa [Percy] Reed owned the cherry orchard, which Krakers bought in 1917. Mama was married on the porch of the farmhouse at the orchard.
Mama's 2nd husband died of a heart attack while mowing the lawn 6 weeks to the day from the day they were married.
There was another son, Arthur Reed Wolfe, between Jeanette and me. He died in Mexico at just under a year old. He was buried in the American Cemetery in Mexico City. In 1953 his father joined him there.
