From Bruce Palmer's Notebook about 1928 She was a charter member of the first Eastern Star Chapter in Henrietta, Texas - was secretary for 5 or 6 years and was Worthy Matron. This chapter demised and later a cecond chapter, #474, was organized Taught primary class in Methodist Church in Barry, Illinois. Joined Methodist Church in Henrietta, Texas in 1892 and transferred to Highland Park Church in Dallas, Texas in 1926. A faithful member of the Ladies Aid Society and Woman's Home Missionary Society for many years.

During war (World War 1), she was active worker in Red Cross, being a charter member of the Henrietta Chapter and receiving a medal for 800 hours work in 6 months.

On Henrietta School Board for a year or so. Treasurer of Partents Teacher Association for 4 or 5 years.

1st grade certificate, Pike COunty, Illinois, issued July 29, 1890.
