Crane 935 W. Ninth St. Erie, Pa. Madam: I have to advise you from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim W. 21540, it appears that Oliver Knight was born April 17, 1768 at Cranston,Rhode Island. While residing at said Cranston, he enlisted June 1, 1778 and served nine months as a musician in Captain William Wawless's Company, Colonel Crary's Rhode Island Regiment, and was in the the battle of Butte Hill. He was allowed pension on his application executed August 7, 1832, while a resident of Troy, Reneslaer County, New York, He died October 13, 1837. Soldier married July 15, 1790, Sally or Sarah Wescott, who was born November 6, 1770. She was allowed pension on her application executed June 20, 1839, while a resident of Brunswick,Renesselaer,New York.
