Ole Jensen was born May 2, 1859 in Denmark. He married A girl named Mary while he lived there, She was born in October in 1854. Their first child, Christinia was born on July 16, 1881 in Denmark. Then they came to the United States and settled in Iowa. Their second daughter, Mary, was born in May 1884. They were living near LeMars, Iowa. Their son, Christian was born on August 11, 1886 and their son, Peter Hans was born on June 13, 1888. On October 8, 1888, Ole Jensen became a naturalized cicizen of the united States. He had filed his Declaration of Intention on Septerber 27, 1886 in Plymouth County Court House. In 1890 the ole Jensen family moved to Omaha, Nebraska and lived at 138 South 35 Street. In 1891 they moved to 913 Cestelar Street. Andrew Jensen was born on January 10, 1892 and another daughter, Emma, was born in May 1894. The 1900 McAvoys Directory lists Ole as a laborer and living at 3039 South 18th Street. In 1901 they lived at 3114 South 14 Street. By 1907 the young boys were all working and all lived at home, which was the rear of 372 South 24th Street. In 1908 they all lived at 908 North 28 Street. Peter Jensen worked at the Cudahy Packing Company. By 1911 the family had seperated and gone their own ways. Ole was living at 473 South 15th Street. Mary, his wife, was to die that year on June 5, 1911. Mary S. Jensen, age 57 years, was buried June 6, 1911 at the laurel Hill Cemetery, in Omaha, Nebraska. Her location is: Block 6, Row 17, Grave 46. According to her death certificate, they were living at 372 South 24th Street, and that her first name was Marie. Mary's Maiden Name is given often on many documents but no one agrees to her last name. Chris Jensen lists his mother as Mary Smith on his marriage certificate in 1909. Ethel Jensen, Peter's wife, called her Mary Rasmussen on Peter Jensen's death certificate. Christina Jensen lists her mother as Mary Johnson on her marriage license to John Van Cleve in 1901. On her death certificate, John Van Cleve lists her parents as Ollie Jensen and Mary JJorgensen. Andrew ways Mary Johannsen on his 1909 marriage certificate to Susan Nichols. Andrew Jensen had married Lena. He died at the age of 69 years in Omaha, Nebraska on August 10, 1961. They lived at 6024 Shirley Street prior to his death. He is buried at the Hillcrest Cemetery. His nickname was "Sky". His son, Eugene Jensen worked at Metropolitan Utilities District in Omaha. Peter Hans Jensen was listed as a painter in 1911, living at the rear of 2004 Jackson Street. He had a son named Truman Jensen, who operated a gasoline station in South Omaha. Peter was married to Ethel, who was born on October 3, 1888 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Her parents were John Hartman and Ella Wilbur Hartman. Peter died on January 25, 1948 in St. Anthony's Hospital in Denber, Colorado and buried in Omaha. Ethel died on October 18, 1978 at the age of 90 years, and is buried by Peter at the Graceland Park Cemetery. Chris Jensen had married Anna Rasmussen, the daughter of Hans and Kirsten Rasmussen in 1909. They had eight children. Christiana Jensen married John W. Van Cleve on May 13, 1901 in Omaha, Nebraska. His parents were Albert Van Cleve and Mary Stebbins Van Cleve. She died on September 22, 1944. They had 10 children. Christinia attended the marriage of her brother Chris Jensen to Anna Rasmussen on March 30, 1909. Ole Jensen remarried on August 12, 1926. On his marriage certificate he lists his parents as: Christ Jensen and Catherine Matsen. He was 67 years old at the time, and his new wife, 49 years old. Her name was Emma Strong, and she listed Herman Lager and Katie Raymer. Their last known address was 4621 1/2 South 25 Street in 1936. Ole died on April 30, 1936 at 76 years old. He died of Colon Cancer, and he was buried on May 2, 1936 at Lourel Hill Cemetery. His location is Block 6, row 17, Grave 48. The Laurel Hill Cemetery, where Ole and Mary Jensen were buried, was named because of the large grove of Laurel trees (a species of the pine tree family). It was first called the Sautter Cemetery in honor of the Sautter family, early pioneers of the area whose family members were amonst the first burials in the cemetery. Then it was called the Old German Cemetery when it was affiliated with the German Lutheran Church. References
