Nellie B YOUNG

was born in 1872 at Ohio.  In 1896 at Ohio Nellie B Young married Rev. Sylvester Eldon Ellis, son of Sylvester Ellis and Elizabeth M Dutton, (married 13 years in 1910 census).  She died on 24 May 1954. 

Nellie B Young was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware Co., Ohio.

    She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Delaware twp., Delaware Co., Ohio in the household of her maternal grand parents Wesley Denison and Ann Maria Denison, she was age 8. Living here with her siblings and neither of their parents are listed.  

    Nellie B Young lived in 1895 at Delaware, Delaware Co., Ohio.

Nellie reports she is the mother of three children after 13 years of marriage. All three are listed with them, Howard, Dorothy and Nellie, and all three were born in Colorado. Also living there is a servant, Julia Roinstad, age 20.  

    Nellie B Ellis and Rev. Sylvester Eldon Ellis appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa, at 214 Jefferson Street, enumerated 5 Jan 1920, they now have four children, Howard, Dorothy, Nellie and Mary. Also listed there is Clara VonDrasek, a servant, age 26. None of the children have an occupation.  
    Nellie B Ellis lived on 31 Mar 1922 at Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa.

She lived with her parents on 1 Jan 1925 at 312 First Street West, Mount Vernon, Linn Co., Iowa, age 16.

• 5 iv. Mary Elizabeth ELLIS was born in 1911 at Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa, her mother would have been 39 when Mary was born.

    She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa in the household of her parents Rev. Sylvester Eldon Ellis and Nellie B Ellis, she was age 8.  

    She lived with her parents on 1 Jan 1925 at 312 First Street West, Mount Vernon, Linn Co., Iowa, age 13.

She appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., Michigan, in the household of Howard Sylvester Ellis and Lilah P. Ellis, age 18. This is the home of her brother. Mary Elizabeth Ellis appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa in the household of her parents Rev. Sylvester Eldon Ellis and Nellie B Ellis, she was age 18.

    He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa in the household of his parents Rev. Sylvester Eldon Ellis and Nellie B Ellis, he was age 11.  He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa in the household of his parents Rev. Sylvester Eldon Ellis and Nellie B Ellis, he was age 21.

    Howard Sylvester Ellis and Hermine Johanna Ellis lived on 8 May 1939 at 824 San Diego Road, Berkeley, Alameda Co., California; Hermine's brother, Friedrich Hoerlesberger, comes from Vienna to visit aboard the SS New York from Hamburg on April 30, 1939 arriving on May 8th, with plans to stay for 59 day visit. He is age 35.
