Many Philadelphians were pleased to learn that Rev. N. Dunham Van Syckel, of New York City, has been elected to the chair of Dogmatic Theology of the Nastoch Theological Seminary in the Diocese of Milwaukee. Rev. Dr. Van Syckel, who traces his family who traces his descent through several of the original Knickerbocker families families of New York, was for fourteen years vicar of St. Michael's Chapel of St. Mark's Parish and chief assistant to Dr. Alfred J. Mortimer, the rector of St. Mark's church, and both through his position and family connections formed a broad circle of acquaintances in this city. In a recent letter to a friend in this city, he signified his intention of accepting the post proffered him in Milwaukee. GenealogyBank
