    Nathaniel3 Tebbets (Jeremiah2, Henry1), of Oyster River (now Durham), born at Dover Neck about 1673-4; was captured and carried away by the Indians 4 Nov. 1705; probably died. His widow married Francis Pittman of Dover, born in 1662, son of William Pittman of Oyster River. She was baptized in Oyster River as an adult 21 July 1717. A grant was made to Nathaniel Tebbets for thirty acres, dated the 11th April 1694, and confirmed on the 16th of the same month by the town (Hist. Durham, vol. I, p. 156). His capture by the Indians is spoken of by Belknap. In the journal of Rev. John Pike is recorded: "November 4, 1705. Sab. Nath Tebbets of Oyster River was carried away by the Indians about sun-set" (Cf. New Hampshire Gen. Record, vol. 3, p. 245: also, Hist. Durham, vol. 1. p. 103: also Stackpole's Hist.     11 Nathaniel Tibbetts (6), Oyster River, had 30 a. gr. 16 Apr. 1694 to be laid out on the west side of Johnson's Creek. Bot from Thomas and Mary Ash in 1700. Carried away by Ind. ab. 4 Nov. 1705. … Widow Elizabeth m. 2d Francis Pitman(3). In 1717 Philip Duley, sr., reciting that in 1699-1700 he and N. T. exch. dwellings, confirmed to her his own 20 a. gr. of 19 Mar. 1693. Kn. ch: Henry, Dover 1722, sold the Johnson's Creek gr. to Thomas Davis with warr. 'by and under me and from any of the heirs of N. T.'; m. 23 Jan. 1728-9 Elizabeth Meader(4); Durham 1734, Dover 1738, depos. in 1754, ± 54, that for many yrs. he liv. near Johnson's Creek. Will, 1753-1766, names w. Elizabeth, 6 ch. incl. Weymouth. Bridget, b. 28 Sept. 1700, m. 7 Feb. 1727-8 John Williams, jr. Martha, m. Samuel Drowne(2 jr.).
