Henry3 Tibbetts (Jeremiah2, Henry1), of Dover Neck, born at Dover Neck about 1675/6. died there between 14 Aug. 1727, when his will was dated, and 6 Sept. 1727. when the will was proved. He married first at Dover Neck (Rev. John Pike officiating), 25 Feb. 1699/1700. widow Joyce Otis (Dover Historical Collections, p. 130); married secondly in Portsmouth, about 1715. Mary (Ackerman) Sampson, who survived him, daughter of widow Sarah Ackerman of Portsmouth (Libby's Gen. Dict, of Maine and New Hampshire, vol. 1. p. 59). They were members of the Society of Friends. He served in the French and Indian war, in Capt. James Davis's company, from 15 May to 12 Oct. 1712 (State Papers of New Hampshire, vol. 1, p. 3). Land was granted to him at Canterbury and at Scarborough. Me. (New Hampshire Province Deeds, Book 87, p. 233; also, York County Deeds, Book 20, p. 157). He was one of the "Secondly Half Share Proprietors" of the town of Rochester (McDuffee's Hist. Rochester, vol. 1, p. 38). At one time he owned a hundred acres of land at "Sligo" (cf. "Old Kittery and her Families," p. 136). The inventory of his estate showed property appraised at £307.18.3.

Scarb. gr. of 60 a. in 1720 sold by his sons in 1736. Will, 14 Aug.-6 Sept. 1727, gave Portsm. houses, land, goods to w. Mary for life, except to Richard the ho. Mr. Croswhite was liv. in and R. to have all aft. his mo. died; to other sons Dover and Rochester prop., to dau. Susannah £10 and a bed; Benjamin exec., bros. Capt. Samuel and Joseph trustees. In 1724 Mary T. named as an abuttor to wid. Elizabeth Eburne; in 1741 the abuttor was 'formerly M. T. now Richard T.' Ch., three sons liv. 1751: Benjamin, b. last of Oct. 1700, w. Abigail. Dover 1728; of Rochester 1736, deeded to br. Edward the homestead E. was liv. on, part of fa.'s homestead, approximately 10 acres. Edward, b. 2 Feb. 1702-3, had wives Charity and Mary. Dover, 1728-1736; of Rochester 1742, sold to Capt. John Gage 22 a. and ho. on Dover Neck. Paul, b. 26 June 1705; Dover 1728, Rochester 1736; adm. 25 May 1743 to wid. Sarah. Ch. Nathaniel, Henry and Joyce of Rochester 1754. And more? Susannah, b. last of Oct. 1707, m. Samuel Canney. Richard (by 2d w.), joiner, Portsm., m. 3 Nov. 1738 Mary Pendexter(1). In 1751 he sued John James and John Gage for 1/6 of certain Dover land (SJC 19793).
