link Will of "Nathaniel Thomas of Marshfield In the County of Plymouth Gent:", dated 29 Sep 1718, proved 10 Dec 1718, mentions "my Eldest Son Nathaniel" [sole executor], "my Well beloved wife", "my Son William", "my Son Joshua", "my Son Caleb", "my son Isaac", "my daughter Deborah ... at her decease the Same Shall be divided to and amongst her Children, to the eldest Son Thomas a double portion", "my daughter Dorothy", "my daughter Mary", "my Grandson Nathaniel Croade", Caleb's portion to be used to pay his debts to his brothers and sisters with the remainder divided among his children.
Memorandum by Nathaniel Thomas 29 Sep 1718 added a few specific bequests to "my well beloved wife Elisabeth ... and her daughters", "Mary the wife of my Son Nathaniel".
7 Mar 1718/19 "son Nathaniel Thomas" given letters of execution on estate of "Nathaniel Thomas Late of Marshfield afores'd Esq'r deceased".
Note: bequests to son Nathaniel include "the Intail'd farm my brother Lately dyed Sized of and is now by his death decended unto me ... According to the Will of my Grandfather who first made the Intaile". Following the above documents is: 17 May 1718 appraisal of the lands of "James Thomas of Duxborough dec'd" totaling £806:15:0 sworn to on 17 Jul 1718 by John Partridge, Joseph Silvester & Israel Thomas.
The 16th day of February Anno Dom 1720/21
Whereas Nathaniel Thomas late of Mashfield in the of Plymouth Esq dec., by his Last Will and Testament bearing date 29th day of Septembert 1718 did (after his funeral Expenses debts and Legacys were paid or deducted) give and bequeath all the remainder of his estate whatsoever and wheresoever both land , moneys, goods and Chattells, to and amongst his younger Children in Equal parts of shares, Namely to William, Joshua, Isaac, Deborah, Dorothy and Mary, and the portion of his Son Caleb to be Improved in the payments of his debts which he owed to his Brothers and what remains after the payment thereof to be divided to and Amongst his Children. And in the Sd Will Thomd decd did appoint his Son Nathaniel Thomas Sole Executor Giving him full power to divide and set Out any Such parcells of d deceased Land [instructions and description of property to be divided]
The One fourth part shall belong to the sd William Thomas his heir and Assignor for Ever
One fourth part to Joshua Thomas his heir and Assignor for Ever
One fourth part to Isaac Thomas his heir and Assignor for Ever
other fourth part to Dorothy Otis her heirs and Assignor for ever
