Nancy Spencer Whitworth was born in Buckingham Co. Virginia on Dec. 24, 1809 to Jerimiah & Frances (Hooper} Whitworth. Around 1830 she marries her first cousin, George S. Hooper (her mom's nephew), and has two children Joshua E. & George F. Nancy and family along with her parents move to the Greensboro, Alabama area where her husband George dies in 1834 leaving two orphans. In Dec. 1835 she marries John Burton and John becomes gaurdian of her two orphans. She has four known children with John Burton, Elizabeth, Jesse, Jerimiah and William. Nancy Whitworth Hooper Burton dies on December 19, 1850 and is buried in the Burton plot of the Greensboro City cemetery. ( I am the 2nd Great Grandson of Nancy Hooper, Ron L.
