NANCY HOBSON SCHROEDER, 93 ROCKFORD - Nancy Hobson Schroeder, 93, of Rockford, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013. Born Sept. 17, 1920, in Rockford, the daughter of Stanley H. and Anna Margueritte F. (Francis) Hobson. Graduate of Rockford Central High School in 1938, and Cornell College, Iowa in 1944. She married Earle A. Schroeder Oct. 7, 1944, in Rockford. Nancy was a board member for Visiting Nurses Association and Rockford Children's Home, member of the Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and co-chair of the founding committee of Pink Ladies, deaconess of Second Congregational Church, member of chapter ET of PEO and Rockford Country Club, and past president of Junior League of Rockford. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Richmond of Presque Isle, Wis., and Ann Vanderbyl of Woodstock, Ill.; grandchildren, Shane (Kristi) Street of Plainfield, Ill., Drew (Kristi) Richmond of Baileys Harbor, Wis., and Leanne Vanderbyl of San Francisco, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Jake and Peyton Street, and Addison and Miles Richmond; nephew, Michael Nihan; and nieces, Nancy Nihan, Lisa Nihan Lillie, and Prema Nihan. Predeceased by her husband, Earle in 1992; sister, Sally H. Nihan; and great-grandson, Jackson Richmond. Private family memorial at a later date.
