Will of Nancy Ann (Friend) AshcraftS2 In the Name of God, Amen. I Nancy Ashcraft of Nolin Hardin County and state of Kentucky, being sound in health, both of body and mind, thanks to mighty God for the same, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and annulling all former and other wills by me made. I will and bequeath unto my faithful and obedient Son, Jacob Ashcraft, all my worldly goods, both real and personal, as also the Debts to whatever amount they may be, which are now or may hereafter come due to me, excepting one bed, bedding, which I hereby will and bequeath to my granddaughter, Elizabeth Walters, daughter of Andrew Walters of Nolin aforesaid. I do hereby appoint my said Son, Jacob Ashcraft, to be my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament, to whom I commit the care of my burial, to be condoned in a christian manner, and the expences thereof my son aforesaid is to defray. And now I commit Soul into the hands of my maker from whom I received it and my body to the earth from whence it sprung. Signed and Sealed by me this twenty first day of April, One Thousand eight hundred and twelve. Patrick At a Court began and held for Hardin County at the Court house in Elizabethtown on Monday the 6th day of April, 1829, the within Instrument of writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Nancy Ashcraft, deceased, was produced, and John Ashcraft, one of the subscribing witnesses, appeared in court & made oath that the said Nancy Ashcraft, signed sealed and published the same as her Last Will and Testament in his presence & that he believes she was in her perfect mind and memory at the time of doing the same. Also that he subscribed his name in her presence & in the presence of the other subscribing witnesses and that Elisha Adams & Joseph Kirkpatrick, the other subscribing witnesses, subscribed their names in his presence and in the presence of the Testator & that Joseph Kirkpatrick is now dead. It was ordered that said will be recorded and the same is established. Whereupon I have truly recorded the same this 13th day of April, 1829. [signed] Saml. Haycraft, Clk. References
