A native of Alamance County and Burlington, NC, she was born May 22, 1913. She was the wife of the late Allen Carson Hudson and the daughter of Porter Alexander Sharpe and Alma Shoffner Sharpe, both deceased. She was retired from Macfield Texturing Company and a devoted member of Low’s Lutheran Church. Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Connie Butler of Burlington and Mrs. Sheri Joyner and husband, Norman of Graham; two sons, Mr. Carson Hudson and wife, Jonnie of Burlington and Mr. Ted Hudson and wife, Dovie of Graham; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Richard, Garmon, Clayton, Bynum, and Lee Roy Sharpe and two sisters, Mable Coble and Annie Dare Chriscoe. A celebration of life will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. by The Rev. Dr. David N. Mielke, Pastor and Mrs. Ebbie Murray, her former nurse and spiritual advisor at Alamance Health Care. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Thursday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Other times they will be at the home of a daughter, Connie Butler. Memorials may be made to Low’s Lutheran Church, 2136 Hwy. 61 South, Liberty, NC 27298. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of the Alamance Health Care staff that loved her and cared for her so tenderly. Also, a very special thanks to Angela Pettiford, her special sitter, who gave so much love and kindness to our mother and was always tentative to her needs each day.
