BURLINGTON — Mr. Lee Roy Sharpe, 73, of 6003 N.C. 62 South, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, at Alamance Health Care Center after several years of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Porter A. Sharpe and Alma Shoffner Sharpe, both deceased. He was a member of Low’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs.. Myrtle Sharpe Hudson of Burlington; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clayton Sharpe, Bynum Sharpe, Garmon Sharpe and Richard Sharpe; and two sisters, Mrs.. Annie Dare Chriscoe and Mrs.. Mable Sharpe Coble.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Low’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brian Ballard. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Low’s Lutheran Church, 2136 N.C. 61, Liberty, N.C. 27298. Rich & Thompson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
