She graduated from the Story City High School in 1916. She taught rural schools in Story Co. 1916-17, grade school, Center Point, Iowa 1917-18, Buffalo Center 1920-24, and Lake Mills, Iowa 1925-26. She attended St. Olaf College 1918-20, Drake University, Des Moines 1924-25, and University of Iowa, Iowa City, where she was a senior and would have graduated but was taken sick and died at her home in Story City March 26, 1928. She was a member of the Iowa District Choral Union Board 1919-21 and organist at the Lutheran Church, Buffalo Center, 1920-24.
