Michael’s land was located on Powell’s Run and was referred to as “the Old Lynn Homestead” at Independent Hill, near Manassas, PWC VA. Information on land that was given to son Moses can be found in the book "Prince William - The Story of Its People and of Its Places" compiled by Mrs. J. J. Barbara Shave's notes on Michael Lynn's Will:
Will dated 27 Apr 1805 and probated 7 Dec 1807 (name spelled MICALE) can be found in PWC Will Book I, p. 360. He left 100 ac. In PWC to son Moses and more to son Ezekiel. He left the land where he lived in 1805 to son John. He gave his Negro woman Nell to daughter Elizabeth and Negro Sam to be equally divided between sons Moses and John. Will names children but not wife. Children: John, Moses, Elizabeth, Jane, Barbery [Barbara?] & Ezekiel. He marked the will with an X and spelling is very poor throughout. The will was proved by the oaths of John Matthews and Wm. Cornwell.
Many descendants were buried in the Lynn Family Cemetery on the plantation. Recently, the graves were unearthed when a gas station was under construction at Independent Hill and there was a search for who was buried there.
