When Michael Jay Crumrine was born on February 26, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, his father, Jack, was 27 and his mother, Florence, was 27. He had two daughters with LuAnn Crumrine. He then married Barbara S. Mathias Guy Kale Crumrine on May 6, 2000. He died on January 18, 2005, in his hometown, at the age of 52.
Michael J. Crumrine, 52, of Wapakoneta, died at 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005. He was born Feb. 26, 1952, in Lima, the son of Jack Milton Crumrine, who died June 28, 1989, and Florence Ellen (Sutherland) Crumrine Shaneman, who died Dec. 20, 2002.
On May 6, 2000, he married Barbara S. (Mathias) Kale, who survives in Wapakoneta.
He was formerly married to LuAnn Corwin.
Other survivors include two daughters, Jodi (Brian) Arnold of Bryan and Melissa (Michael) Vandemark of Lima; four grandchildren, Kayla Arnold, Addison Arnold, Emily Vandemark, and Cody Vandemark; one brother, Dennis L. (Carolyn) Crumrine of Waynesfield; a step-father, Victor C. Shaneman of Lima; one step-son, Jason Guy of North Baltimore; one step-daughter, Vanessa Guy of North Baltimore; and two step-grandchildren, Brayden Guy and Kendra Guy.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Crumrine, who died in 1959.
Mr. Crumrine retired in March 2004 after 34 years as a Manufacturing Engineer with the Dana Corporation. He was a member of the Kalida Family Outreach Center, in Kalida. He was a member of the Lost Creek Country Club. He was an avid Ohio State fan, and loved to golf and fish.
In 1970 he graduated from Shawnee High School, and in 1993 he graduated from Oakland Community College with a degree in manufacturing technology.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, in Shawnee United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Jim Swihart and Derrick Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
